Neptune Magnet Mall, Bhandup, Mumbai

Spread over approximately 1,056,000 sq ft, Neptune Magnet Mall in Bhandup West is developed by the Neptune Group as part of the Living Point township. Located on L.B.S. Marg near Mangatram petrol pump and adjacent to residential towers, the mall was launched around 2011 with much fanfare as one of Mumbai’s largest multi‑anchor retail destinations.

The mall was designed with four themed atriums, two levels of dedicated parking, and Mumbai’s largest two-level food court. It originally housed major anchors, including a Metro Cash & Carry, Easyday hypermarket, and a 10‑screen Cinepolis multiplex. It also featured a large Family Entertainment Centre (FEC) over ~70,000 sq ft including India’s second indoor ice‑skating rink, bowling, video games, and a toddler jungle gym.

Neptune Magnet Mall Pros

  • Massive entertainment complex: Features a full-scale FEC, including real ice skating, bowling, and gaming zones—for kids and families.
  • Strong anchor brands: Metro Cash & Carry, Easyday, Cinepolis, international and Indian fashion labels like Biba, Jack & Jones, Pantaloons, Croma etc..
  • Ample parking & transport links: Two levels of dedicated parking, plus proximity to Vikhroli and Bhandup stations and a free shuttle from Kanjurmarg station initially.
  • Affordable cinema: Cinepolis offers clean halls, recliner seats, 3D films, and reasonably priced tickets.

Neptune Magnet Mall Cons

  • Many stores closed: A large number of shops and dining outlets have shut or relocated; it’s often described as a “half open” mall, with only Cinepolis and a few anchors active.
  • Poor footfall & ambience: Low visitor numbers, dim/unmaintained corridors, broken escalators and elevators make access difficult to upper floors

In summary, Neptune Magnet Mall once stood as a landmark in Bhandup—boasting extravagant entertainment, food court, retail anchors, and attractions like ice skating. Today, however, it largely survives due to Cinepolis and a handful of brands. Many shops and facilities have closed and much of the mall feels deserted, making it feel more like an office complex than a vibrant retail hub.

If you’re looking for a family‑friendly weekend outing, the FEC and ice‑skating are still worthwhile—assuming they remain operational. But if your goal is fashion shopping or diverse dining, nearby hubs like Powai, Mulund or Ghatkopar offer a more lively scene.
